Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Reading: Apply close reading skills to a variety of literary, theoretical, rhetorical, and expository texts
• Writing: Produce analyses and creative work that is clear, effective, well researched, and demonstrates audience awareness
• Critical Thinking: Interpret, analyze, critique, and synthesize texts
• Research: Develop and carry out research and creative projects, including locating, evaluating, organizing, and incorporating information from literary, theoretical, and historical sources
• Knowledge: Articulate familiarity with major literary works, genres, periods, and critical approaches to British, American, and Global Literatures
