The 3+2 between the Bachelor of Science in Health Administration (BSHA) and the Master of Health Administration (MHA) allows students to obtain both a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration and Master’s degree in Health Administration within five years. This is extremely beneficial to the student financially and effectively decreases time spent working towards a degree.

Students are required to complete three years in the undergraduate BSHA major, obtaining General Education requirements as well as credit toward the BSHA.  During the third year, the student applies for acceptance into the MHA (February 1).  If not accepted, the student may reapply to the MHA and continue to work on coursework for the BSHA degree.  If accepted, the student will begin specific MHA coursework in the beginning (Fall) of the fourth year.  After successful completion of the fourth year, students are eligible for graduation with the bachelor’s degree.  At the successful completion of the fifth year, students are eligible for graduation with the master’s degree.

Students must apply and be accepted into the Master of Health Administration based upon the following criteria:

1. Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00.
2. A professional resume.
3. A letter of application that introduces the applicant, outlines the applicant’s educational and career goals and articulates how completion of the MHA will contribute to those goals.
4. Professional and/or academic recommendations (Recommendation Form) from three individuals who provide an evaluation of the applicant’s potential as a graduate student, professional abilities, potential for success in a health administration career, commitment to service, and motivation to excel.
5. A required virtual interview to clarify any questions on the submitted application.

• Analyze how the structure of the U.S. healthcare delivery system affects individual healthcare organizations, patients, and populations.
• Analyze the role leadership plays in inter-professional relationships within healthcare organizations.
• Explain the need for security management and information technology in healthcare organizations.
